Overview

In Taskmonk, each role is associated with one or more access types; each access type is associated with one or more privileges, which enable users to perform a specific set of tasks.

For example, only users who have the Create/edit Roles privilege can manage roles. This privilege is available only to the users who are assigned the role of Administrator.

Only Administrators have the ability to manage roles and configure access types and privileges.

What is a role?

A role represents the job that a user is supposed to perform.

Examples: Operations Manager, Quality Control Analyst

What are access types?

In Taskmonk, access types are groupings of related access privileges. Access types enable authorized users to easily assign multiple privileges to users.

Example: The WORK_MANAGER access type groups together the following privileges:

  • MANAGE_PROJECT_USERS

  • OUTPUT_FILE_CUST

  • DOWNLOAD_OUTPUT

  • IMPORT_TASKS

What are privileges?

In Taskmonk, a privilege enables users to perform a specific set of tasks.

Example: The IMPORT_TASKS privilege enables users to import data that must be annotated, into a project.

To know more about granting access privileges to users, see Assigning Roles to Users in Taskmonk.
