Working with the Image-Segmentation UI

Learn how to segment images in Taskmonk.

  1. Click the My Tasks icon at the top of the page.
    The My Tasks page appears.

     

     

  2. Click the Get Tasks button adjacent to the project you wish to work on.
    The labeling UI associated with this project appears.

     

      

    On top of the page, the following is displayed:

    1. Batch ID.

    2. Task ID.

    3. The number of tasks completed.

    4. The number of unread messages.

  3. Click View Docs at the top-right corner to view project documents.

  4. Click the Full Screen icon at the top-right corner to hide the application navigation menu.

  5. To draw segments on the image:

    1. Click Draw.

    2. Select the class for which you want to annotate from the Classes tab on the right of the image.

       

       

    3. Click New Segment.

    4. Make a selection on the image as required.

    5. Enter any labeling data for the segment under the Output Fields tab.  

    6. Click the Generate Annotation icon on the left toolbar to generate annotation for the selected segment.

  6. You can choose the selection tool style from the options provided under the Draw tab.

     

     

    These options are:

    1. Polygon: Create a polygon by clicking the corners of the polygon. Click Polygon Stroke Color to select the stroke color as required.

    2. Brush: Create a segment by drawing freely over the image. Use the slider to select the brush size.

       

       

    3. Magic Wand: Create a segment by selecting pixels based on color and tone.

    4. Four Point: Create a segment by marking out an area bounded within four points selected.

    5. Super Pixel:  Create a segment by clicking on the image to automatically detect a group of pixels that share a common characteristic.
      Use the slider to select the size of the superpixel.

       

       

  7. Use the controls to the left of the image to edit the image as required.

     

     

    1. Click the Open Input Image icon to open the input image in a separate tab.

       

       

    2. Click the Restore icon to restore the image to its original size.

       

       

    3. To adjust the contrast of the image:

      1. Click the Contrast icon.
        The Contrast slider appears.

         

         

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    4. To adjust the saturation of the image:

      1. Click the Saturation icon.
        The Saturation slider appears.

         

         

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    5. To adjust the brightness of the image:

      1. Click the Brightness icon.
        The Brightness slider appears.

         

         

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    6. To adjust the opacity of the selection box:

      1. Click the Box Opacity icon.
        The Opacity slider appears.

         

         

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    7. To import a JSON containing annotation data:

      1. Click the Import JSON File icon.
        The Import JSON modal appears.

      2. Drag and drop the JSON file you want to import onto the modal.

      3. Click Import to upload the file.

    8. Click the Export JSON File icon to download JSON file containing the annotation data.

    9. The image zoom information is shown at the bottom of the image toolbar. You can scroll on the image to zoom as required.

  8. Click

    1. Submit & Get Next Task to submit the current task and load the next task.

    2. Save & Exit to save the work done without submitting and return to the My Tasks page.

    3. Skip & Get Next Task to skip the current task without saving the result data and load the next task.

    4. Submit Task & Exit to submit the current task and return to the My Tasks page.
