Taskmonk provides custom labelling UI based on the type of project you work on. Click on the project type below to know the step-by-step details of how to work the labelling UI.

Text-Based

  1. Click the My Tasks icon at the top of the page. The My Tasks page appears.

  2. Click the Get Tasks button adjacent to the project you want to work on. The labeling UI associated with this project appears.

    On top of the page, the following is displayed:

    1. Batch ID.

    2. Task ID.

    3. The number of tasks completed.

    4. The number of unread messages.

  3. Click View Docs on the top-right corner to view project documents.

  4. Click the Fullscreen icon at the top-right corner to hide the application navigation menu.

  5. Typically, the labeling UI for a text-based project is divided into three sections:

    1. Input Fields: The text that needs to be labeled, and other supporting details. This is read-only.

    2. Level Results: The labels added by the users at previous levels.

    3. Result Fields: The editable fields where you would add the labels as required.

  6. The way you enter the labeling data depends on the data type of the result field. This is summarized in the below table:

Date Type

Text

  1. Type the result as free text.

A text field only accepts the characters allowed by the Format of the field. For example, a Number format text field will only accept numerals.

Domain

  1. Type the result as free text.

The entered string must be formatted like a URL, including the protocol. If the format is wrong, the field would be refreshed on losing focus.

DropDown

  1. Click the downward arrow to the right of the field. Dropdown options appear.

  2. Click to select the result from the options provided.

  3. To remove selection, click on the x at the right of the field.

Only one of the options can be selected as the result.

MultiSelect DropDown

  1. Click on the field to see all the options provided.

  2. Select the result as desired. Selected value is shown in the field with a x next to it.

  3. Repeat the above steps to select all required values.

  4. To deselect, click x next to the selected value.

  5. Click x to the right of the field to deselect all values.

Date

  1. Click on the calendrer icon to the right of the field. Date Picker appears.

  2. Select date as required.

  3. Alternatively, type the date in the DD/MM/YYYY format. Ensure that you enter a valid date.

File Upload

  1. Click Choose File. File Upload modal appears.

  2. Navigate to and select the file to be uploaded.

  3. Click Open (Mac) / Select (Windows) to select the file.

Radio

  1. Click on the option corresponding to the result.

Exactly one option from a radio button group can be selected at a time.

LinkedField

The parent field must be selected before the child field is selected.

Hybrid

Name-Value Pair

  1. Type results as free text in the fields provided.

  2. Click + (Add New Field) icon to the right of the field set to add another pair, as needed.

  3. Click the delete icon to the right of the fields to delete a previously added value.

    1. Submit & Get Next Task to submit the current task and load the next task.

    2. Save & Exit to save the work done without submitting and return to the My Tasks page.

    3. Skip & Get Next Task to skip the current task without saving the result data and load the next task.

    4. Submit Task & Exit to submit the current task and return to the My Tasks page.

Annotation - Image

  1. Click the My Tasks icon at the top of the page. The My Tasks page appears.

  2. Click the Get Tasks button adjacent to the project you want to work on. The labeling UI associated with this project appears.

    On top of the page, the following is displayed:

    1. Batch ID.

    2. Task ID.

    3. The number of tasks completed.

    4. The number of unread messages.

  3. Click View Docs on the top-right corner to view project documents.

  4. Click the Fullscreen icon at the top-right corner to hide the application navigation menu.

  5. To add a group:

    1. Click Manage. Add Group modal appears.

    2. Enter the group name in the Type Group Name text field. Click Add.

    3. The group is created and the name appears in the modal.

    4. To delete a group, click the delete icon next to the group name.

  6. To annotate the image:

    1. Click on the class for which you want to annotate on the right and move the mouse pointer over the image.

    2. The mouse pointer changes to a + icon. Hold and drag to make a selection.

    3. Select applicable attributes from the attribute dropdowns on the right of the image.

  7. To add an annotation to a group:

    1. Select the annotation.

    2. Select the group name from the Groups dropdown.

  8. You can choose the selection tool style from the options provided to the right of the image. This changes the shape of the selection area.

  9. Use the controls to the left of the image to edit the image as required.

    1. Click the Save icon to save your progress.

    2. Click the Fit to Screen icon to fit the image to the screen.

    3. Click the Restore icon to restore the image to its original size.

    4. To adjust the contrast of the image:

      1. Click the Contrast icon. The Contrast slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    5. To adjust the saturation of the image:

      1. Click the Saturation icon. The Saturation slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    6. To adjust the brightness of the image:

      1. Click the Brightness icon. The Brightness slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    7. To adjust the opacity of the selection box:

      1. Click the Box Opacity icon. The Opacity slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    8. To rotate a selection box:

      1. Click the Rotate Shape icon. The Rotate Shape toggle appears.

      2. Turn the toggle on. You will now be able to rotate the shape by dragging its corners.

    9. Click the Zoom In icon to zoom into the image.

    10. Click the Zoom Out icon to zoom out of the image.

    11. Click the Help icon to see all the shortcuts that you can use to annotate images.

    12. To upload a JSON containing annotation data:

      1. Click the Import JSON File icon. Import JSON modal appears.

      2. Drag and drop JSON file from your computer onto the modal.

      3. Click Import to upload the JSON.

    13. Click the Export JSON File icon to download JSON containing the annotation data.

  10. Click

    1. Submit & Get Next Task to submit the current task and load the next task.

    2. Save & Exit to save the work done without submitting and return to the My Tasks page.

    3. Skip & Get Next Task to skip the current task without saving the result data and load the next task.

    4. Submit Task & Exit to submit the current task and return to the My Tasks page.

Annotation - Video

  1. Click the My Tasks icon at the top of the page. The My Tasks page appears.

  2. Click the Get Tasks button adjacent to the project you want to work on. The labeling UI associated with this project appears.

    On top of the page, the following is displayed:

    1. Batch ID.

    2. Task ID.

    3. The number of tasks completed.

    4. The number of unread messages.

  3. Click View Docs on the top-right corner to view project documents.

  4. Click the Fullscreen icon at the top-right corner to hide the application navigation menu.

  5. To add a group:

    1. Click Manage. Add Group modal appears.

    2. Enter the group name in the Type Group Name text field. Click Add.

    3. The group is created and the name appears in the modal.

    4. To delete a group, click the delete icon next to the group name.

  6. To annotate the video:

    1. Click on the class for which you want to annotate on the right and move the mouse pointer over the video.

    2. The mouse pointer changes to + icon. Hold and drag to make a selection.

    3. Select applicable attributes from the attribute dropdowns on the right of the video.

  7. Once an annotation is added, it is present on all the following frames at the same location. You can reposition it on each successive frame as required. To do so:

    1. Navigate to the desired frame using the playback controls below the video.

    2. Hold and drag the selection area as required.

    3. To end a selection, click Current Label > End on the frame after the last frame with the annotation.

  8. You can choose the selection tool style from the options provided to the right of the image. This changes the shape of the selection area.

  9. Use the controls to the left of the image to edit the image as required.

    1. Click the Save icon to save your progress.

    2. Click the Fit to Screen icon to fit the image to the screen.

    3. Click the Restore icon to restore the image to its original size.

    4. To adjust the contrast of the image:

      1. Click the Contrast icon. The Contrast slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    5. To adjust the saturation of the image:

      1. Click the Saturation icon. The Saturation slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    6. To adjust the brightness of the image:

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    7. To adjust the opacity of the selection box:

      1. Click the Box Opacity icon. The Opacity slider appears.

      2. Adjust the slider as required.

    8. Click the Zoom In icon to zoom into the image.

    9. Click the Zoom Out icon to zoom out of the image.

    10. Click the Help icon to see all the shortcuts that you can use to annotate images.

    11. To upload a JSON containing annotation data:

      1. Click the Import JSON File icon. Import JSON modal appears.

      2. Drag and drop JSON file from your computer onto the modal.

      3. Click Import to upload the JSON.

    12. Click the Export JSON File icon to download JSON containing the annotation data.

  10. Click

    1. Submit & Get Next Task to submit the current task and load the next task.

    2. Save & Exit to save the work done without submitting and return to the My Tasks page.

    3. Skip & Get Next Task to skip the current task without saving the result data and load the next task.

    4. Submit Task & Exit to submit the current task and return to the My Tasks page.

Audio

  1. Click the (blue star) icon at the top of the page. The My Tasks page appears.

  2. Click the Get Tasks button adjacent to the project you want to work on. The labeling UI associated with this project appears.

  3. On top of the page, the following is displayed:

    1. Batch ID.

    2. Task ID.

    3. The number of tasks completed.

    4. The number of unread messages.

  4. Click View Docs on the top-right corner to view project documents.

  5. Click the (blue star) icon at the top-right corner to hide the application navigation menu.
